The Whitby Mens 3-Pitch softball league has been in operation for more than 40 consecutive seasons. Originally playing its games on Monday nights, the league moved to Thursday nights more than 20 years ago, and has been a staple of the activities at the Iroquois Park baseball diamonds since that time.

The league consists of 8 teams and approximately 125 players, with the minimum requirement for registration being 19 years of age. All 8 teams play once a week, with games scheduled at Iroquois Park # 2 and # 3 on Thursdays at 8:00 p.m. and 9:30 p.m.

Our regular season usually begins on the first Thursday in May and ends on the first Thursday of September. All teams make the post-season championship tournament and are guaranteed 3 round-robin games. These playoffs are held in September on the first weekend after Labour Day at Kelloryn Park # 1 and # 2.

This league may best be described as casually competitive in nature. Teams share the same dugout for all regular season and playoff games, and they also use and share league-supplied bats for all games. As well, to keep costs to a reasonable level, teams umpire their own games during the regular season, with carded umpires used only for the playoffs in September.

In the Whitby Mens 3-Pitch softball league, baseball skills and experience are secondary to enjoying the game of baseball on summer evenings and sharing the camaraderie of friends and teammates. For more information on our league and/or to obtain registration details, please contact one of our co-convenors as noted on the Contacts page.
